I know it is an oversimplification, but I was trying to make a point of how important this day is in the life of the church. True the Ascension is observed in many churches the Sunday before Pentecost, but today is the actual feast day. Thanks for the comment. Also, in most of North and South American, Ascension's celebration is moved to the Sunday before Pentecost. This was done so that more people could be present and celebrate this significant commemoration of the Lord.
